Get a Taste of New York City in Nassau County
New York City is known as a cultural melting pot in our country and with all of those cultures mixing together, it’s par for the course that its food scene would reflect that. And boy oh boy, does it. New York City is one of the best food destinations in the world and the restaurants there are continuously receiving awards, Michelin stars, and recognition worldwide. Even though nearby, if you aren’t up for making the trek to the Big Apple, there are a handful of restaurants in the city that also have outposts right here in Nassau County. Hope you saved your appetite!
Patrizia’s
This Italian restaurant has been around for over 25 years and in addition to its multiple locations throughout New York City – including Brooklyn, the Bronx, and even Staten Island – it has locations both in Nassau County’s Hicksville and Massapequa Park. You can go a la carte, order up from its family style menu, or even get Patrizia’s catered to your next event.
Avo Taco
With a home both in Queens, and New Hyde Park (and even one in New Orleans!), Avo Taco is known for serving fast-casual Tex-Mex cuisine, from quesadillas and tacos to avocado bowls and pork belly bowls. Avo Taco also has an array of tequilas, specialty cocktails, and desserts (we’re eyeing the churro sundae).
Kyma
This Greek-inspired restaurant is a staple in Manhattan, with a location in the Flatiron District and another in Hudson Yards. Lucky us, we have one located right in Roslyn, where we can enjoy all the same staples. Yes, that includes the incredible seafood plateaus, Kyma chips, and the specialty whole fresh fish.
Tacombi
Since first opening in New York City in 2010, the famous Mexican restaurant has expanded greatly and now has locations in Miami, Chicago, Florida, and naturally, Long Island. Located in Westbury, the restaurant serves up its amazing corn tortilla tacos and burritos to hungry patrons.
Popup Bagels
As the winner of Brooklyn Bagelfest’s Best Bagel award two years running, it’s no surprise that this bakery is a hot spot in NYC. The popular spot opened its first Long Island location in Roslyn this November and is already drawing in customers. It’s a simple concept, serving just bagels that you rip and dip in cream cheese.
Kyuramen
There are multiple locations not only throughout New York City but also in Nassau County, too. There is a location in Garden City for locals and visitors to enjoy. Here customers can enjoy the hearty Japanese soup, which has numerous variations, as well as other Japanese staples like omurice, okonomiyaki, and even rice burgers.
