Bright orange pumpkins, the fresh scent of apples, and colorful leaves bring the spirit of the fall season alive. And there’s no better way to celebrate the arrival of these cooler days than with some cider, beer, hayrides, and pumpkin painting. To get yourself fully invested in autumn’s arrival, snag a ticket to some of the most coveted events that celebrate all things fall, like these 7 Hot Tickets to Snag.

Heritage Fall Festival

Muttontown, NY
September 21-November 3, 10am-4:30pm

There’s plenty happening at the Heritage Fall Festival this season, with a variety of free daily activities to boot. However, for those who want to get the most out of their time at the farm, there are two packages that will gain you access to even more merriment. The standard $10 package, available daily, not only includes full access to the front field, but also allows participation in the corn maze, bubble bar, kiddie corral, farm animals, hula hooping, and photo opportunities. Upgrade to the bundle package for $25 on weekends and holidays, which also includes pumpkin decorating, sand art, and a DIY trick-or-treat bag, plus $5 Heritage Bucks to spend at the store. And don’t forget to indulge in all of the fun fall food and drinks available, too.

Barrier Brewing Oktoberfest

Oceanside, NY
September 28, 12pm-5pm

You’re not going to want to miss this one-day-only event at Barrier Brewing. The family-friendly Oktoberfest celebration will have you wanting to do the German waltz to music by The Bratwurst Boys. In addition to the live music, there will also be contests, games, and prizes for events like Stein holding competitions, nail and hammer games, and best costumes. There will be plenty of beer to partake in, along with wine, cider, hard seltzer, and hard teas, as well as Bavarian food from 3rd Rail Kitchen and Smokin’ Sandy Pineapple. Additionally, activities like hair braiding, face painting, caricatures, and a bounce house will be in full swing, plus vendors selling authentic German wares and freshly shucked clams and oysters. Children under 13 can get in for free and there are numerous ticket options available, starting at $15 for general admission and up to $75 for an open bar ticket.

Spooky Fest

Rockville Centre, NY
October 4-27, 6pm-9pm

The 13th annual Spooky Fest will kick off in early October this year at the Center for Science in Rockville Centre. With both scary and non-scary attractions, the festival caters to adults and families of all ages. For those not into haunting festivities, take a stroll in the Mystic Garden, where you’ll find friendly ghosts, happy scarecrows, candy, and colorful Halloween displays. Or, try your hand at making your own glow-in-the-dark slime and other seasonal crafts. For those a bit more daring, turn to the Haunted Woods Walk, which is certain to make your spine tingle, or opt to get your fortune told. Ticket prices range from $22 for non-scary attractions to $27 for the all-inclusive option. Guests are also encouraged to come in costume if they wish (or dare).

The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze: Long Island

Old Bethpage, NY
October 4 – November 3, 6pm-9pm (Late Hours: October 25 & 26, 6pm-10:30pm)

Celebrate the 5th anniversary of The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. This family-friendly Halloween event features over 7,000 hand-carved pumpkins in dazzling displays, synchronized lighting, and new attractions like the Long Island Hall of Fame,  (Billy Joel and Jerry Seinfeld…) and a tribute to First Responders. Other highlights include, a glowing Lady Liberty, a Pumpkin Circus, and a replica of the Montauk Lighthouse. Also enjoy live nightly pumpkin carving, custom pumpkin orders, and seasonal treats like cider donuts and pumpkin beer.

Tickets start at $39 for adults, with a special $10 flat rate for children ages 3-17. Kids 2 and under are free. Tickets are available online only and sell out fast!

Mill Neck Manor’s Apple Festival

Mill Neck, NY
October 12 & 13, 9am-4pm

A Long Island tradition since 1961, Mill Neck Manor’s annual apple festival brings together thousands of visitors and locals to celebrate the fall season. Of course there will be plenty of varieties of apples to indulge in, along with other delectable treats like strudels, cheeses, and Karl Ehmer specialty meats. Additionally, there will be craft beer, wine, and spirits for those 21+, as well as live entertainment, pie-eating contests, live music, and lots of activities for children. The festival takes place in partnership with the Long Island Deaf community, so there will be ASL classes, healthcare checkups, ASL novelty items, and deaf technology to discover. All you need to bring is a $20 suggested donation to park your car.

Long Beach Fall Festival

Long Beach, NY
October 12 & 13, 10am-5pm

Don’t miss out on this family-friendly weekend event, filled with all the fall things you could possibly imagine. From a giant pumpkin patch to hay rides to shopping and food, there’s plenty of fun to be had at this fall festival. For those looking to spend some money, there will be more than 40 vendors selling everything from jewelry and home goods to fresh pies and flowers. Those who are of age can pop into the food & wine tent to sample some wine from Beach Liquors, in addition to the plentiful array of food available for purchase. To partake in the many activities, such as the children’s activity tent, pumpkin bounce house, and swinging chairs, you’ll need to either shell out $4 per attraction or opt into an all-day wristband ($30/day or $50/weekend).

Long Island Oyster Festival

Oyster Bay, NY
October 19 & 20, 11am-6pm

While you won’t need to buy a ticket in advance to partake in a shucking good time at this year’s Oyster Festival, you better save some cash so you (and your little ones) can partake in all of the carnival games and rides. And of course, enjoy all things oyster – from the fried variety to chowder to oysters on the half-shell – or become a spectator at the oyster shucking or oyster-eating competitions. In addition to our favorite bivalve, other seafood and festival foods will be available for attendees to purchase, and there will be plenty of entertainment to keep you occupied all day long.
