History lovers, families, road trippers, and curious explorers: your summer adventure awaits.

The Long Island History Hunt is back for its second year, and this time, it’s bigger, more and competitive.. The 2026 “Redcoats and Rebels” edition celebrates America’s 250th anniversary by sending participants on an interactive journey through some of Long Island’s most fascinating Revolutionary-era destinations.

Running from May 23 through September 30, this self-guided adventure features 26 museums, landmarks, and historic sites across Nassau County, Suffolk County, and Brooklyn, each with unique ties to the American Revolution and Long Island’s incredible past.

Participants can register at LIHistoryHunt.com, visit designated locations, complete selfie challenges, and upload photos for a chance to win prizes. Complete one stop and you’re automatically eligible to win one of five prizes. Visit 10 or more locations, and you’ll be entered to win $250. Complete all 26 stops, and you’ll earn the title of Revolutionary Trailblazer and be entered to win the grand prize of $1,776 plus exclusive merchandise and a luncheon in your honor.
